We are a new small family run business with two letting rooms, 1 double on the first floor and 1 twin on the ground floor. All rooms are recently refurbished to a high standard with en-suite facilities. We are situated half way between Bridport and West Bay close to a bus stop. We provide on site parking. Our aim is to offer home comforts with a touch of luxury. We offer full English or cont inental breakfast, with vegetarian options. Packed lunches are available on request. Welcome to this quality 16th Century coaching inn that Thomas Hardy called 'The Sow & Acorn' in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'.

Set in the picturesque West Dorset village of Evershot, this lovely old stone-built Inn boasts a worthy history. Originally known as The Kings Arms, it once brewed its own ales with water drawn from the source of the River Frome.

All the original charm and character of 400 years exudes from the beamed bars and log fires that greet guests on arrival. Nestling among the rolling hills in an area of outstanding beauty and close to the British Heritage Coastline, you have the perfect base for exploring, walking or visiting the countless National Trust gardens and historic houses that surround us.

Only the best fresh local ingredients are used to produce excellent meals in our award winning AA rosette restaurant or the two oak-panelled bars, which also offer real ales and a comprehensive wine list. Our philosophy is to create dishes using seasonal produce from local and sustainable sources. We work closely with our suppliers so they can provide us with line caught fish and farmers who adhere to good husbandry and free range practices.

The ten en suite bedrooms are individually decorated and have their own style and character, each taking a name from Hardy's "Tess of the d'Urbervilles". Well behaved dogs are very welcome!

A skittle alley also doubles as a function room for up to 60.
